Good News
[46:13] Surely, those who say, "Our Lord is God," then lead a righteous life, will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
[46:14] They have deserved Paradise
, wherein they abide forever; a reward for their works.
40: The Age of Decision
[46:15] We enjoined the human being to honor his parents. His mother bore him arduously, gave birth to him arduously, and took intimate care of him for thirty months. When he reaches maturity
, and reaches the age of forty
, he should say, "My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do the righteous work that please you. Let my children be righteous as well. I have repented to You, I am a Submitter."
[46:16] It is from these that we accept the righteous works, and overlook their sins. They have deserved Paradise
. This is the truthful promise that is promised to them.
God knows full well who deserves to go to Heaven and who deserves to go to Hell. It is God's law that whomever He puts to death before the age of 40 shall go to Heaven. God's mercy includes everyone, it includes all the descendants of Adam and Eve. This Divine mercy is reflected in 46:15. It is interesting to note that the gematrical value of the names Adam and Eve, in the Arabic language, are (1+1+4+40 = 46) and (8+6+1 = 15), respectively. God says that the age of maturity is 40. This information is placed in verse 15 of Sura 46. Concatenating the three numbers, we obtain:
40,15,46 = 19 x 21134
Forty as the age of maturity is mentioned in 46:15. This verse is sandwiched between two verses in which God points at people who have deserved Paradise. God's mercy is beyond human comprehension. Our judgment is based on what we know about different cases and what we know in most cases is not enough. God knows everything, He knows all the circumstances. This is why God is the Best Judge. This is why He is the Ultimate in Judgment. God is the One who gives life and death. He does not grant death before the age of forty to those who deserve Hell. It is just simple as that.
Early in 1989 a man by the name of Theodore Robert Bundy was executed for killing a number of women. The whole nation agreed that he was one of the most vicious murderers in history. So much so that his execution was one of the rare occasions where the opponents of capital punishment did not protest. Many people complained about the slow process in the judicial system, it took eleven years to execute this convicted criminal. It was stated that Bundy should have been executed within a maximum of six years after his conviction. According to the Quran, this would have been the greatest favor anyone could have done to Bundy. He was 42 years old when executed. Had he been executed five years earlier, at the age of 37, he would have gone straight to Heaven, and he did not deserve that. As it turns out, Bundy was one of the signs God has given us about the age of forty. Bundy's name, Theodore Robert Bundy, consists of 19 letters, and he confessed to killing 19 women just one day before his execution.
The age of forty is the age of maturity, it is the age of responsibility, it is the age of perfection. Moses' summoning to the Mount Sinai took 40 nights. Mohammad was 40 years old when the Quran, the Final Testament, was revealed to him. (The Quran was sent down to him all at once but released gradually through his memory over a long period of time, 17:106.) It is God's mercy, it is His Divine Law, that every one should get a 40 years respite. Every one should get the chance to explore, study, and examine life and understand the purpose of it. Now, if by God's decree one dies before the age of 40, he or she is not given the benefit of living a full term. He or she is not given the time to complete the course, understand the purpose, repent to the Almighty, and ask for His forgiveness. When God takes one's life before the age of forty, He will not send that person to Hell. God is the Knower of all the secrets and declarations. He know who deserves to go to Paradise. Therefore, He allows some among those who deserve Paradise die before the age of 40. This may be difficult for some humans to understand and appreciate. Many among us by nature are mean, they like to send a lot of people to Hell. With their obscured vision and understanding, they judge others, convict, and demand execution: "Kill him, fry him, send him to Hell!" They just don't know the whole truth. God is the Only One who does. If a person forcibly is injected with a chemical and while under the influence he kills someone, is he responsible for the crime or the person who did the injection? If a person is brainwashed and he commits a murder because of it, is it fair to take him as the murderer and leave the one/ones who did the brainwashing free in the society? God Knows while we do not know. His judgment is perfect. While many of the real criminals live long lives just to go to Hell later, God allows many among those who do wrong die young. Glory be to God, what a Merciful God He is.
Martin Luther King
and Malcolm X were both assassinated just a couple of months
before their 40th birthdays.
Glory be to God, they both achieved
the Eternal Paradise, they are alive at their Lord being well
provided for. God has placed an awesome sign in Malcolm for the
world to see.
It is God's will that people know what this
Quran can do for them. The Quran is not just another book. It is
a living book! It does wonders. It affords people with the best
education for it comes from the Lord of the universe. It teaches
people how to become righteous. It takes people out of darkness
and guides them to the light. The Quran is mathematically
composed with 19 as its common denominator.
Malcolm, Malcolm Little, was born on May 19, 1925. He was an African American who truly tasted oppression during his childhood. His father was murdered for race related matters while he was just a young kid. As he grew, he turned to violence. He did much of the wrong things he could do. It was God's will that he be picked up on February 19, 1946. His going to prison was a blessing in disguise. He was cut off from the environment which could eventually take him to the depth of darkness and consume him. It was God's will that he be saved from that environment. He stayed in prison close to eight years. It was during this time when he became acquainted with the Quran. The Quran and the English Dictionary provided him with the best company during his long hours in prison.
To
begin with, he became a member of the so called "Nation of
Islam." After his release from the prison, he even became
their spokesman. This was when he decided to do without his last
name "Little," and called himself "Malcolm
X." As a member of the "Nation of Islam" he was an
advocate of racial separatism. He was militant in his tactics and
believed: "If the basic human rights are not given must be
taken by force." As he was seasoned in his belief with God
and also noted the hypocrisy about the organization of which he
was a member, he grew apart from it. He decided to stand on his
own principles. Thus, he founded the Organization of
Afro-American Unity in 1964. In his pilgrimage to Mecca, he
realized that God's religion has nothing to do with the color of
the skin. Malcolm had become a true Muslim, a true Submitter to
God alone. In accordance with the Quran, there is no such thing
as a "Muslim Name," anybody with any name can submit to
God and be a true Muslim. However, it was God's will that Malcolm
picks the name "Al-Haaj Maalekel Shabaaz." He had
adapted to this name when he was assassinated on February 21, 1965, less than three months
before his 40th birthday. It is God's will to show that
everything is under His control and that everything has already
been written. This is easy for God to do.
